I'm new here. This is my first post. This is my '65 4-4-2. My grandfather bought this car new from Barber Motors in Elyria, OH. He was an Olds man all his life. I remember sitting in the drivers seat of this car pretending to drive and bang gears since before I could see over the dash. It has 44k original miles. Currently it is powered by a 455 with a TH400 trans. The original motor and trans are tucked safely away for later. I drive it on the street and bracket race it a little. It typically runs 12.20's but looking to make that about .5 seconds quicker for next year.

A nice looking ride and it has history also. Have fun on this site, and if you want to learn stuff about your car you came to the right pace.

nice car, even better when it comes with history. lets hear and see more pics. was it an auto car new? The car was originaly a 4-spd M-21 with 3.55 gears. This car came with very little options. Would have made a good race car back in it's day. Manual steering, manual brakes, no console. The only real options are remote mirror and tinted glass. I would like to put a stick back in it but I don't want to 1) break the original Muncie or 2) cut the floor pan for a TKO-600. I am holding out for the new McCloud 5-spd if it ever comes out.

Hell yeah, Chad, that is a great looking car. It is awesome that it has a story to boot.
I love the way it looks with the Pro Stars on it.

Are those Monocoque's on the back? I am running Bogart Fly Stars on the back, and Weld Aluma Stars on the front. I just re read the original post, and somehow missed that it had 44,000 original miles on it. Great car.

What front springs are you guys running? I bought small block AC springs I wont run AC but think they might make the car ride lower in the front than I want. Probably should have gone with bigblock springs.

I got mine from eaton springs in Detroit, they have all the original GM spring drawings, they carry ours in stock. Order what came with the car and you can't go wrong. Any confusion on their chart, call them, they have good customer service. eatonsprings.com/

chadman...she's a beautiful beast! Love it as is. Other than the drivetrain and wheels, is the rest of the car original? Was it always stored indoors?
