I have come to the inevitable decision that I must get rid of some of my stuff. I know, I know, I've said that before and have never followed through. That's because I really didn't want to, but now I simply must get things down to a manageable level. I've finally come to the reality that my bad back and body won't allow me to do what I really want. If I had a bank account big enough I could just write a check and have someone else do the work, but that's not happening. So I must get down to brass tacks and keep just want I want to really work (and go through the pain) to complete, which is the Holiday Coupe.
I'm going to part with my wife's first car, our 65 Cutlass Sports Coupe. I'd rather sell this one whole than part it out. If someone else wants to do that, so be it, but I can't bring myself to do that to this car. It's been a part of the family too long.
It's complete, but in rough shape from sitting in the elements. I will take some pictures and post them soon, but wanted to see if anyone here would be interested before I list anywhere else.
It's a floor shift car with buckets and a console. Has the code and trim for a two tone car - last paint job was back to original of a Lucerne Mist body and white top, although the paint is completely shot. It was done in the early 80's and sat outside ever since. Chrome is, well as you would expect for a car kept outside. Has SS1 wheels, tires are probably shot, but would get it trailerable. The car will probably run if need be, I may just do it for the heck of it anyway, but it hasn't been started in years.
Let me know if your interested and i will clean it up a bit and get some shots posted.

Too bad about the back, I know all about that, it takes me a lot longer to get anything done. I have that crappy burn down the leg sciatic nerve. I just do the best I can, what else can you do. Drugs don't work(unless their really good ones) and you get tired of taking that crap after a while. What did you do to your back, or is it just wore out like mine. PS: I'd love to have your sports coupe tore apart all over the garage but I believe my wife would permanently get rid of my back pain.

I have a 65 442 looking for any good parts i.e., doors(non-post) hood/trunk/fenders....this car of mine was also out doors for many years before I got to it, I have already replaced the front susp., rear-susp. (including rearend) transmission/drive shaft. You can check out my pics on Hub garage.com (under) "Rocket Fast Bring Beer" garage, so any help would be great.

Big Mike, know your pain..... literally. As a young kid working in the railcar shop I was stupid lifting angle and plate that was way too heavy. Paid the price for many many years and saw numerous chiropractors etc. Pain got so bad sometimes I'd just lock up. Moved to Oregon and found a chiropractor that actually helped more then you can imagine. Had me stretch my hamstrings by laying on my back, trying to total relax while picking my leg straight up and stretching it as far as you can, holding it and repeating 3-4 times each side. Not a doctor but I have NEVER felt so good in my life. If you think about it, makes sense as all of those mussels are connected. Anyway, good luck as that's the most miserable pain there is. BTW, a number of years ago I stuck my hand up for your floorshift dash . Still interested. Also, if you part it, very interested in talking as my post can always use parts.

oldskyline, Register your account and post some pics in the member's section. Checked it out on Hub Garage. Nice looking car. You might also want to post a new thread with what parts you need. You'll probably get some response. I've got all the parts you mentioned without rust but they're in Washington State and I haven't decided if I want to part with them yet or not. (I know, why even mention it...)

" ] Same problem here with the nerve pain...over a year now..the Docs, chiro and phsio were pretty much useless...then the wife saw one of the shows on TV..Dr Oz... started doing planks and some other exercises...4 months later...all better 90% of the time...still have to be carefull... Have my fingers crossed. One more year or so and hopefully then I can retire to the garage while the wife works.

I screwed up my back about 9 years ago playing with my then 5 year old daughter. Just picked her up under her arms and swung her side to side, something I did with all my kids. Went one way, back the other way and back and all of a sudden it felt like someone hit me with a baseball bat across my lower back at full speed. I ruptured 2 disks in my lower back (L4 & L5, for those of you who know those things). Most folks would have gotten surgery, but I'm a chicken. I guess all those years wrestling 10 and 13 speed transmissions in dump trucks and long haul trucks, and bending over big diesel engines didn't help matters either. Oh and being overweight as well.
After physical therapy (which is a politically correct term for torture in my opinion) I was able to get around and through exercise and stretching I'm function-able on pain meds. They always tell you to get a second opinion, well I got 3. First guy said; NO, second guy said; YES, third guy said; MAYBE. All three said the same thing that the surgery could leave me worse off then I am now, or it could fix me. Speaking to many different folks going through the same thing that it's about 50-50, some said surgery was the fix, and the other half said they are worse off with some of those way more worse off. So I've been living on pain meds and exercise for a few years now. However, it is getting a bit tiring.
