Went to Barrett Jackson on Friday in Orange County, CA. It was interesting. Lots of nice cars but lots of average stuff. The only day I could make it was Friday, but there were two '65 442s to cross the block that day. I didn't see any other '65s or even any '64s or '66s. Just the two '65 442s. Here's the first one. Mohave Mist post with a 455ci, floor shift auto. The paint was slightly different shade than mine. The write up (done by Barrett Jackson) was strange. It didn't mention 442 at all, it said "Rare F-85 club coupe". I'm not up on the Fremont data tags so I had to slide under the car and check the upper control arm mounting holes. It was a 442 frame with the four holes and had the sway bars, all the emblems. I guess someone decided at some point not to call it a 442 (?). They did call it a Club Coupe AND a Sports Coupe. what can you do... Excuse the crappy cell phone pictures. here's a link www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?aid=343&ln=91&pop=0&it=1Next one Black Holiday Coupe, floor shift Auto. Pretty good paint. Belt-line chrome. Pretty nice car overall. Crossed at $20,500. here's the link www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?aid=343&ln=33.3&pop=0&it=1

I think the first car was Eds, some douche from the old 442 mailing list. Guy asked if he could cut the steel rod that was hitting his headers on the drivers side. You know that rod otherwise known as the steering column shaft.
And that black one has been at the last three B-Js. Whats up with that?

I thought the pictures of the black car looked familiar. Sold for 23k in Palm Beach and 27.5k in Scottsdale. I overheard a guy saying Barrett Jackson owns some of these cars and they run them through to drive up the attention. If they dont bring the money, they buy them back. There was a '63 Plymouth Fury drag car that he said had been at every Barrett Jackson auction he's been to.

That looks like Ed's car, whoever has it(or should I say had it)was trying to get some big bucks for it. $18,700 is like a third of what they were asking for it.

The silver one has been up for bid on e-bay several times.

I'm not so sure that the 4-hole rear swing arm mount can be used as a 442 frame identifier. I have three non-442 65's, listed below, and all three cars are sitting on original 4-hole frames.
