Anyone here run a DMR or other brand of beefed up rear suspension... adjustable upper control arms, triangulation braces, etc?
Did you experience much "improvement" from the stock set-up to the aftermarket one?

I am changing the rear end set-up in my '69 W31. I am using tubular lower arms, adjustable uppers, a combination of bushings, and Air-lift bags in the springs. When i raced 25 or so years ago I used stock control arms with the combination of bushings and the air bags on a '69 Chevelle that went 11.50's with a smallblock. With a little fine tuning you can make the stock stuff work. That Chevelle was an automatic and the W31 is a stick so I am going with better control arms so I can leave a little hard.

Also. I tried the no-hop bars on the Chevelle (they attach to the upper control arms and the rear to change the angle of the upper bar) but found that they did not help. Remember. this was a small block with a pretty healthy converter and no trans. brake. I ran 28x10 slicks with 5:57 gears and would leave on the foot brake so the suspension was loaded and didn't get the shock of a stick or trans. brake. My new combo. is a GOOD Olds 350, 4-speed, and 4:33 gears with 27x9 slicks---I'll let you know how it works.
