Correct, if you want a couple of good books get the Mondello technical reference manual and their performance products book. If they haven't changed them they are a wealth of information.

Thanks...I thought they were but I needed an expert to confirm...now to decide if to pony up the big bucks for them at Dick Miller or try Egge machine...Egge lists different lifters for the 400 and the 425...not sure why...you would think they are all the same for 65 big blocks...

According to the Mondello book they are the same. Early 400/425, and then the later 400/455 are .842

The 1965 400, B block, uses the smaller .842. Only the Tornado and E block 400s used the .921 lifters. Make sure you get a 45 degree block cam shaft.

...maybe Egge is correct then?
...I thought their catalogue was in error showing different lifters then the 65 425.

I'm guessing that in Modello's book early 65 400 does not include the 65 400.

I just buy lifters at NAPA, very inexpensive $4.00 ea, and are good enough for my '69 H/O......
