Rick,
Are you doing this yourself or just getting it ready for a body man??
Glad to see you moving forward on this.

Body man. I do not have the patience for body work. I'm way too anal. I needed to see the extent of the damage so I knew where to get the replacements cut. I wish I were able to do that, but I lack those skills. Anyone know a good body man in N. IL? I could always use another quote.

Late 2007 6.0 LY6, VVT, 6L90E. Harness ECM and TCM modified by Wait for Me Performace to stand alone. SPI efi tank. Rebel wirng harness. 9 relays (top up, top down, fuel pump, low beams, high beams, horn, 2 for fans, starter solenoid), and wiring designed with help from MADElectrical.com. The transmission is HUGE. Still in process of cutting existing floorpan to accept it. It will be duplicated in the new floorpan. Still need to upgrade the rear brakes to disc (68 12 bolt 3.31:1). The front brakes are 72 discs. 65 power booster with a 72 master cylinder and push rod. Still need to get a quick ratio steering gearbox and car exhaust manifolds or headers. Exhaust is 2-1/2 X-pipe into Flowmaster American Thunder 3 chamber. Color is still up in the air, but probably 1969 Trophy Blue. Interior is 2004 Cadillac STS(?) seats with integrated shoulder belts, and no Caddy logos. I made my own dash insert to accept Autometer gauges. I might redo it because I hate the turn signal and high beam lights. i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab22/ALLDUN5/dash.jpg

Ive been reading build threads on LS1tech.com about LS engines into A bodies. Seems the trans tunnel needs to go bye bye with these swaps.
How is the drag link clearance to the oil pan?

I only have to open the tunnel about 3". You can see the preliminary cuts in the picture (above) of the engine sitting on the front. I used a mount kit from BRP Hotrods and GM's LH8 oil pan and clearance is not a problem. It appears that all of the truck accessories and intake will clear. It is my understanding, and Lord knows I can be wrong, that the trucks have a taller intake for torque. That is fine with me. I have ordered a STS 6L80E trans pan and filter. I will either weld on a 38MM extension for the 6L90E or more than likely use the STS and the 6L90 pans and machine one from billet aluminum. Using the depth of the STS and the outside of the 6L90. Of course I would make two of them and sell one to cover material cost.
