Does anyone know if there are any common spray paints that match up to the dark gray and silver colors for the SSI rims?

Does anyone know if there are any common spray paints that match up to the dark gray and silver colors for the SSI rims? When you say common, do you mean cans you can buy at Home Depot or and auto parts store? The black is a semi-gloss, you can find that anywhere. The silver is argrnt silver, and you can get it at any auto parts store. Eastwoods sells them as well, but are more expensive than auto parts store paint. Don't know if they are better paint or not.

I was mostly looking for paint that I could buy locally-places like NAPA,Home Depot,Lowes, etc. I was thinking the dark background color was more of a gun-metal gray than black, maybe mine were just that faded. Did they paint all of these rims the same for all the different makes-Chevy, Olds, Pontiac?

This is an SSI wheel:They are not body color, the painted center is semi-gloss black. The non all chrome versions that have the painted silver rim is argent silver. Someone on the list had found a store bought color that was close if I remember correctly. However, I know you can buy argent silver in any Advance Auto, Pep Boys, etc. I think you may have a Chevy version of this wheel. There was a Chevy version of the SSI that had painted silver spokes and rim. I don't think Olds had any SSI wheel that was an all painted version. Olds SSI's have the spokes in chrome and the rim was painted silver. Then there is the all chrome version of the SSI Olds wheel.

Yea Big Mike, mine are different than your picture. On mine the spokes are wider and a little pie shaped plus they have a raised area(about 1/16 inch) that covers most of the spoke but does not go out to a point. They came on the car and I never really paid that much attention until I went to refurbish them. I don't know what they are now?

hmmm...sounds like Pontiac Rallys Could be a Pontiac, I don't think it's a Buick because Buick's are chrome, not painted except the black in the center. Gray said there was two colors and the rim was all paint. Might even be a later model Camero or Monte wheel. I can identify it if Gary sends in a picture or send one to me directly.

I was watching a replay of the Mecham Auto Auction form Florida in January and I think the wheels I have on this hardtop are the Pontiac Rally wheels. Probably not good in the eyes of the purists but they looked pretty good when I got them all repainted. Maybe I can find someone to trade me so I could get some real SSI rims(fat chance)

yep, definitely the Pontiac Rally. Mine were painted dark everywhere except the ribs and the base ring around them. I painted the dark a charcoal metallic and the ribs a silver metallic with a clear coat on top. Got Olds center caps and deep dish chrome trim rings(mine are 7" rims). There not authentic but look nice until I can find something better. Just trying to get car road ready(probably a month) and I'll try to figure out how to post pictures. Thanks.
