check out supercars unlimited they sell recondition engine parts Talked to Greg Rollins at Supercars last week. He didn't have any rebuilt originals then but gets them in from time to time. There are aftermarket ones if he's not going original. I'll be over at his place later in the week, can check. I might have one buried somewhere if noone else chimes in. Let me know if you need me to look.

Thanks Bubba, would you recommend tear dropping the intake valve guides? From what I've been reading on various sites seems like for a street/strip combo best to leave the intake side alone other then cleaning up excess flashing and maybe tear dropping the guides for better atomization of fuel at low end. Seems like CFM's would be improved by opening the intake ports slightly though, so they are at least the same as the intake manifold or slightly bigger as flow is directional but I'm no expert? Definitely seems like flow would be destroyed if the intake side is smaller or obstructing the flow from the intake manifold? All questions for anyone willing to comment. What I don't want to lose is the low end street drivability from gas puddling.

What exactly are your plans for the motor. Bone stock including intake and exhaust, factory cam, rockers etc. Just playing with porting the heads as I've never done it. Was going to simply gasket match the exhaust side, clean up the runners and bowl. On the intake side, was only going to tear drop the guides and clean up the runners. Probably wasting my time but what else is there to do I'll post a couple pix

Started carving away on my heads today (A's). Opened the exhaust port and feathered the runner back to the bowl, tear dropped the guides and cleaned up the bowl. Question, how polished is polished? It means a different things to different folks. Does it need to be baby ass smooth, like glass or simply rough spots/flashing gone and everything transitioned in?

I think it was a factory original out-the-back-door vinyl top, with a 425 tri carb set up. One of one. Right Bubba??

Thanks for the report back. Just for the sake of sparking conversation and getting some of the boys fired up, did you happen to see what color the engine was painted or was that even possible to see? Well, wouldn't matter with a D block..... 65 425's were A blocks.

Big Mike, know your pain..... literally. As a young kid working in the railcar shop I was stupid lifting angle and plate that was way too heavy. Paid the price for many many years and saw numerous chiropractors etc. Pain got so bad sometimes I'd just lock up. Moved to Oregon and found a chiropractor that actually helped more then you can imagine. Had me stretch my hamstrings by laying on my back, trying to total relax while picking my leg straight up and stretching it as far as you can, holding it and repeating 3-4 times each side. Not a doctor but I have NEVER felt so good in my life. If you think about it, makes sense as all of those mussels are connected. Anyway, good luck as that's the most miserable pain there is. BTW, a number of years ago I stuck my hand up for your floorshift dash . Still interested. Also, if you part it, very interested in talking as my post can always use parts.

Haven't had any recent exciting issues but have seen it all in the past. From snakes in the house to just about every small critter you can imagine in the gargae or attic....
We had a house we grew up in that was pretty run down. You never knew what was going to be in the room or there to great you in the morning. Anyway, glad those days are behind me.
BTW, what type of snake?
