To all, FYI...Not a bad first attempt. Hopefully AMT will come out with a new tool for a 65 kit. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH1FLcxIspsEdit: Just to be clear folks, I did not build this kit. I just spotted it on youtube in my travels and am forwarding it FYI. When I say not bad for a first attempt, I'm referring to the quality of the resin parts.

Resin is difficult to work with and does warp over time. I do build models and think a 65 442 kit is way overdue. There are kits already done for the 442 for 64, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, and 72. No 65 in plastic yet.

i have 3 of them,1 is an old old casting. am redoing the tail panel more to scale. the real old one has chrome grille and bumpers. i shaved off the 442 scoops as my replica is my sterling mist 65 i had in high school. the other is going to be a red one like my bro in law had before he went to nam. in my research, the 67 442 kit has tint 442 decals that fit all the places on the 65.

The 442 decals in the 67 kit are probably to big for 65. However the 442 decals in the newly released 64 hdtp kit should be better. I've seen the 64 kit in Walmart and Michaels, about $25-$30. There's also a 64 convertible kit as well.
If you can find a model show in your area you'll find everything you need at cheaper prices too.
