I haven't done my 442, but I did a custom built hot rod a few years ago. You can buy a stand alone 4 way flasher unit from NAPA, or on line that mounts in or below the dash, and connects to the front park light circuits, and brake lights. You might want to hide the unit, it has a big ugly lighted red knob on it. The circuit does not cross feed through turn signals when used, causing them to 4 way flash. There were simple instructions with the unit. If I recall the flasher unit was about $30.00. Good luck with the project.

What does driving home at night have to do with needing four way flashers? If your car is that unreliable that you're afraid it will break down, focus your efforts there. Buy flares to put in the trunk. If you really think you need hazard flashers, the easiest way is to find an N.O.S. Flarestat package. They were a dealer-installed option and plug right into your existing turn signal harness.

thanks for your responses...I will check out Napa and see if they still carry the part you are referring to...will also look for the Flarestat package you mentioned Joe...actually I don't think it has anything to do with whether or not you car is 100% reliable or not...to me it is more about being safe on the road when those unexpected things happen and we all know they can and will sooner or later...

A couple of flares in the trunk is a lot cheaper and easier than retrofitting hazard flashers. Heck, you can get LED flashlights that have a red strobe option now, and a magnet to stick it on the back of the car.
