I have small amount of gas leaking out of my gas tank vent line after driving. It just started after getting it out of winter storage. The hose between the tank and the metal tube is in good condition. The vent tube goes into the trunk, there's a bend and then exists out above the frame. That tube is just cut off at the open end; should it have a fitting or something there?
I've read some comments that a worn gas cap could cause this leaking so I'm going to replace it. Thanks, Dave

Is the gas tank vent tube just open at the end or should there be a fitting? Mine is just open. Thanks, Dave

It just ends......no fitting. Do you have a vented or non-vented gas cap?

The gas cap cap was non-vented but looked like it’s seen a better day so I just replaced it with a fresh non- vented one. I haven’t filled my tank since then so I don’t know if it that fixed the over flow. Thanks

Only if it doesn't have the vent loop in the trunk.
