So it's looking like we're moving from Norther Ca. to Idaho. Anyone have any recommendations on how to ship our cars out there. Need enclosed due to winter weather and the car is not running at the moment (or before moving)?
Thanks for any recs

I don't know anything about your car so my suggestion might not be right for you. If your car is not a show car I would not go the expense of a closed trailer. I have a daily driver and shipped my car from NY to FL by open trailer for $750 and had no problems.

I have successfully done it two ways: Go on Uship site, post your move and see what bids you get. You can specify a closed trailer. I have found that if time is not critical, you can get a bargain price from someone dead-heading home with an empty trailer. For example, I just brought a car from North Carolina to Florida for $450.00. The other is to rent a 20' Penske truck (Penske has flat floors, no wheel house in the way), have your car picked up on a flatbead wrecker and rolled in to the truck. secure with wheel chocks and straps. When you get to your destination, have it unloaded the same way. Do not tell them you are hauling a car, they don't like that. If you have two cars, put one in the truck, and one on a trailer behind it. Good luck.
