Does anyone know if the carpeting on the sides of the center console should be trimmed flush with the bottom edge of the console sides, or rolled around the edge and tucked underneath? Rolled seems kind of bulky.

I rolled mine under for two reasons: 1) Original was that way (at least on my console). 2) Assembly manual shows it that way. Ignore the wire connectors, this was prior to when I added the plug-in connector.

My original console was also roled over the sides

I've had several and they were glued on the sides and ran to the bottom, not rolled. BUT that doesn't mean they didn't have ones that were rolled. Mine doesn't have carpet at all, which personally I like better.

There isn't much area for carpet on the 4 speed console.
