It's just stuck on there. A press, a sledge (not directly on the hub) and maybe some heat.
Off the car obviously.
When I redid mine I put it on a 20 ton shop press and the drum cratered big time before finally letting go.

Step away from the sledge hammer.
The drums are retained to the hubs by the wheel studs. Press the studs out FIRST, then the drum comes off the hub.

Joe, how are they retained by the wheel studs? I ask because I had punched out the wheel studs. The hub face was still frozen to the drum from corrosion. Not even badly corroded after getting it off, but stuck good. Obviously the studs can be frozen to drum from corrosion as well, but I didn't see any type of retention.

The knurls on the studs pass through the hub and press into the drum. If you've pressed the studs out and the drum is still stuck to the hub, then it is rust and NOW you can break out the BFH.

Gotcha.
Another question, that will help jims as well i'm sure.
Who makes the correct drum replacement? All the parts houses list the drum (which I used) which works for the brakes but does not cover the flared part of the backing plate like the originals.

I'm not sure anyone repros the original bell style drums. Craig Stanley (mobileparts) may be able to find NORS ones.
