Two years after my rebuilt 400 was installed, I finally found and installed the Dashpot on the original 4GC. It definitely seems to make the car more drive-able. Instead of the engine RPMs immediately dropping when you take your foot off the accelerator, the engine RPMs decrease in a smoother, more consistent fashion. For those wondering if they should bother finding one or installing it (since it is not really needed), I would say it is worth it. Also completes a nice correct restoration if that is what you are after. I rarely ever them installed.
