Finally got around to getting some photos of the current project that I thought I would share. as you can see in the photos it was Target Red...factory 4 spd. car, M21 close ratio, 355:1 posi...original engine is long gone, came with an F block 455, it is currently being slowly rebuilt...trans was in good shape...not much work needed there...engine will be a mild build...maybe aluminum heads...Been taking it apart for some time now and still have some trim to remove. Have painted the front suspension and have installed new ball joints and bushings, front brakes are rebuilt, springs and front sway bar are painted, inner fenders are ready to paint next weekend, painted the heater box today, basically doing a lot of the small restoration stuff first and putting it on the shelf so all the small projects will be ready to go back on someday when the body and frame are done...hope to get the body off soon so I can clean and repaint the frame and under side of the car and rear suspension also...
the thought is to go to a dark silver or gun metal...for budget reasons car will keep the drum brakes for now although if budget allows may upgrade to at least front disks...time will tell
car appears to be fairly straight...not much rust...
The trunk pan will need to be replaced, at least part of it...the was some rust under the rear tail panel, some pitting but not through anywhere...there is minor rust on the foot wells, may or may not need patching...
you can see by the picture that some distant audiophile got a little crazy with cutting holes for speakers in the doors ...look like he used a chain saw...did the same thing with holes for a roll bar in the package tray...
there was about a pound of bondo in the front of the roof that has since been removed...more of a crease than a dent...some minor rust that has been treated...
Anyway...that is the project...hope to get it done sometime soon before I am too old to push in the clutch...supposed to retire soon so maybe it will go faster...yeah right...
