Can anyone give me an idea the cost to rechrome taillight buckets including the bars and all the belt line molding pieces. I live in SC. List reputable plating places. Has anyone tried the chrome coating method on trim piece?

Depends on the condition of your pot metal. Around $200 a tail light bucket and another $100 for the tail light bar. I was quoted $3800.00 for my side trim. Don't expect good results on the tail light buckets. Still can't find anyone to chrome them correct.

I am having my tail light housings done for the 64 as we speak here in the Dallas area-300 for the pair. Just got my bumpers back and they had to weld fill in two bad rust spots in the rear bumper 375- the front 325. I was told there would be some pitting where the welds were and there is a little. If I was building a 400 point show car I would have sourced another bumper. The quality of work is very good, they do it all there. They do not farm it out in Mexico. John at Quality Bumper Service 972-263-7300. I am listing this company only because these places are getting harder to find much less quality work at a fair price.

Thanks, started looking at spectra chrome stuff, advanced plating in tenn is supposedly top notch for real chrome but I haven't contacted them yet.

Then I was using a local shop in near by NJ. I wont use him anymore and I wont go into that one. I now use New England chrome plating in CT. You really do some great work. Can you restore our 65 Custon Deluxe steering wheels? This is one I love an estimate to restore and a color change. Thanks,

If the wheel isn't to fair gone I can restore it. They run anywhere from $350 to $550 depending on hours spent. Two tones are a little more just because of painting two colors so two tones are around $450 $550. We do the consoles also. I just finished a wheel and made a custom console for a customers car (Best Friends car) I also did the interior over on the car The car came out great a few months later he sold it. I was pissed. We do mostly Pontiac's because I have been into them as a kid. But I also love the Olds cars I have about 4 of them now that we have been working on and off of. All mine 70 442 one owner car, real clean needs resto, 71 W30 clone real nice car and a real clone all parts need on it. a 65 442 That's how I found this site. I believe I was ripped off, because Bro's site makes it look like a clone, and all the signs point to it. I didn't know that at the time, but because of sites like this one with great guys on it you can always learn. There is someone out there that know more then you. But its a real clean car, that needs a little love. Straight and rust free. That's why I bought it. Auto car. Then I have a 64 Cutlass that I'm starting to work on now. Needs a motor and trans missing some chrome trim. Clean and straight, power seat car. I don;t know if I want to build this Old schools or modern. Leaning towards old school raised up high. bubble hood Big fat tire in rear skinny in front etc.'
