When I had the drive shaft made for Maxx Tugg, the products were explained to me this way. Your U-Joint is the crossover , it is designed to mate up with the GM driveshaft and the "9" inch rear end. The difference is the daimeter of the bearing cups that fit in the rear end. The difference is very small in the DIAMETER.
They showed me that the GM u-joint would work but it is not absolutely correct, just slightly smaller. This is starting to sound like I am repeating myself. Their final word from them was," any good parts supplier will know what to give you for a replacement" Just tell them you are going from GM to Ford 9 inch.....they have the joint.
Actually, the diameter of the bearing cup and the overall dimension from end to end of the bearing cups that fit into the 9 inch is the difference. It was very very small difference. But it could be seen when compared. It has been sevreal years since I had this done so I don't know or remember the part numbers. If I have to ever replace the joint I would just take it to the shop and have the replacement installed. I had this installation done at a parts supplier.
Thanks for the for the admiration comments for Maxx Tugg, I can provide pictures for anyone who wants to see the suspension installation. The "9" inch rear end I used was from a '71 ford pickup.

I found the correct u-joint. It is neapco part number 2-1153 or precision part number 447. The stock rear driveshaft yoke is a Saginaw S44 or M3R. The Ford 9” truck yoke is a 1350.
