hey mongoose, what headers are you running?? sounds like me and you are on the same page here, LOL. so far, i think i'm going with the M&J Proformance full length w/ 2" primaries & 3.5" collectors. also, what are doing for frame reinforcement?? I'm using a set of stainless headers I got from Mondello. Had to heat and hammer one tube on each header to get sufficient clearance with the frame and/or cross member. Not exactly what you want to do with a set of new headers, but you can't see any of the dents once they're installed in the car, so I guess who cares. I haven't added any reinforcement to the frame. My engine doesn't have quite as much grunt as yours... I just went with additional body panel clearances to protect the paint. I don't plan on putting a roll bar in this car, so it won't see any track action... I see no point in getting kicked off the track after one pass.

Thanks again everyone for the compliments. I plan to keep the car looking basically the same after the drivetrain swap, with the exception of possibly converting the inner high beam housings into forced air induction ports (more on that later, lol) and adding a set of M/T drag radials w/ a higher stance out back as well.

Hi, i have a post car with the 330ci, have had a problem with getting hot, replaced stock radiator with aluminum 4 core, built a shroud(heard that the 330 did not come out with a shroud) and installed a 1100cfm elec fan in front of radiator. have been told that the 330 has a tendency to run hotter. Mine runs 190 to 210. feel that is to hot for a small block. Has anyone had a heating problem with the 330. Engine rebuilt, installed a "mild" cam, performer intack and 625 edlebrock, pulled the 2 spd, had a th350 built and installed with shift kits, car is painted Chianti Red, red, black, grey interior and custom wheels(like yours). Any info on the 330 would be appreciated. thanks ted

These cars only had idiot lights so either you were good or overheating. I have 2 Cutlass' with 330's in them and anywhere between 180 and 205 is where they ran depending on the situation. When you stick a gauge set on them is when you find out where they morally run. That said, your upgrades could contribute slightly to running hotter than usual but nothing that would cause chronic overheating. I can tell you that if you run an overflow bottle from the radiator will help greatly. One of mine ran hot in traffic until I installed the bottle and a closed system cap.
