Vetteguy, looks like your going disc in the front, and if memory serves me, a little road racing(?) all the more reason to make every attempt to use the forward running lines.

Ive found three different styles for this line. My car originally had it loop out around the drivers side mount then run across the rear of the crossmember. Assembly manual shows this line as 442 only. A 442 parts car had the double loop line thats in the photo I posted. Thats the line Inline Tube sells. The Cutlass line runs behind the crossmember, no loops.

When I made up the lines for my car I noticed the same thing, book shows only drivers side, the car I removed the line from for a pattern was both driver and passenger. Wonder if the book was early production, and then they went to both sides when actually in to production. Was never something I paid attention to while parting out, but both sides would be better

Well, as it turns out there are no tee's or fittings in this system besides the one at the rear end, there is a distribution block that mounts right under the booster and all the lines run to that, so thats why I look at pics on here and my lines look so different. I have some of it figured out. One would think they would have line routing insturctions but that would make too much sense!

What did you make those brake lines out of, they have a painted look to them.

I watched the jay leno vid, DOT says it has no standards on hard lines, yet brake quip says "complies with DOT standards" of which there are none according to the letter the snake oil salesman read to leno, as leno watched on to fulfill his commitment for another payday. Never really heard leno actually endorse anything. And this stuff work hardens just like copper does.

Does EVERYTHING about these "Ol` Bones" have to be a frigging mystery I think this forum makes all these mysteries worse. The more we ask the more questions we find.

And the purpose of the loops? Cooling. On my way for fish, but I`ve got more to say on the subject. "Imagine that" Gotta go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Double loop, single loop. I knew that the loop(s) was used for a heat issue. I remembered my chevelle used the single loop, but on the passenger side? The design was to direct the line away from close contact with the exhaust manifold, forward, then parallel to the radiator so as to put the line in the flow of air from the fan. The concept was simple, but why two different sides, drivers side on the 442 vs. passenger side on chevelle SS and GTO? Turns out, after a few phone calls, just as simple as the concept. After talking to two SS owners, one 65 BB, one 66 BB, two characteristics were common, the heat risers on the chevells are on the passenger side, olds BB heat riser on the drivers side. The heat riser exhaust manifold is the "HOT" manifold on any engine. Talked with one GTO owner who told me his original loop was on the passenger side as well as his heat riser. So I`m guessing here that the double loop is an aftermarket to satisfy all the A body big blocks. This is all speculation, but makes perfect sense. And yes Jeff, the all you can eat walleye was OUTSTANDING, had both deep fried and pan fried.
