Great job brother, chiming in tonight on you all. On the other hand I have alot to do before I'm called end of next month to send the rolling chassis to the restoration center to mount the frame to the body. Mark at your speed you will be in the street way before the " rustbucket" re-appears in a totally new skin!!

Nice! Man you work fast! Those control arms look sharp. With the red control arms, you might consider painting the springs and sway bar the same color to tie all the suspension components together. Just a thought...

Looks real good so far! Did you butt weld the trunk pan under the package tray area or just over lay it? Keep up the good work!

It's a pain in the ass to have to make the cut for a butt weld in that area of the trunk. Brian is referring to the upper lip. Also, I thought it was mandatory to sand off the primer from those trunk pans before welding. Is it weld through primer? The white guages look great!!

its al overlay, sorry, now I understand. We are going to seal the overlap on top and bottom with tigerhair, sand it all down and coat it also. It actually wasnt that hard at all to do, the pan fit well, I think we have about 6-8 hours in it so far. As far as the primer, we used a die grinder with a fine scotch pad and knocked the primer off of the area that we welded. I LOVE the new dash panel and guages, we cut in a new stereo, with MP3, Pandora, sat radio etc, and a heater/air control for a new Old Aire control and drilled holes for the factory 442 dash emblem. I am going to have it powder coated black chrome

....which size booster will fit this covers? Denis is asking what size (diameter) power brake booster will clear those taller than stock valve covers. As you probably know, there is barely enough room to clear the stock height covers with the stock size power brake booster. So with taller covers you'll either have to use a smaller diameter booster, or run w/o power brakes.

I am restoring a 65 442 myself and am using a 2004R that I purchased from John Kozak. He specializes in beefing them up so they are good to go with a big block olds.
He can be reached at 859-623-1883. He is in Richmond Ky. I purchased mine from him in 2009 and it was 919.00. I am guessing the price has gone up some from then, but no where near the 2400.00 mark...
