Now Grant has to get his Olds down there! Where were these two? I have seen several 64-65s at Pomona, some for sale, some not. Many of the newer ones-68-72,they are all over, even in the classic car dealers, down on Lincoln and on Wilshire.I haven't seen any of this style, even driving around.I should get one for when I am out there, though I have my eye on a real nice LeMans sitting in a barn,326,buckets,auto with console, low miles, old man owned till he died. But it says 'Pontiac' on the side! Might be close enough. What part of LA are you in-near Grant? Thanks. ---bil

Bil, Since Brian lives in San Francisco and I've got (well, had) space, we put the cars at my warehouse in downtown. I think it's technically Fashion District.
We are definitely harvesting some '64-'65 Oldsmobiles in this area. so far: '65 Sports Coupe 442 out of Fullerton '65 Cutlass Holiday Coupe for parts out of Van Nuys '65 Holiday Coupe 442 out of Lake Perris '64 Sports Coupe from Simi Valley '64 Sports Coupe 442 from Apple Valley I think Brian's '64 Holiday Coupe came from Riverside. '64 convertible was from Utah.
the '64s are Brian's, the '65s are mine. My '65 Sports Coupe 442 will be back down here in a couple of months (I'll post some updates soon). Until then there is this '64 Sports Coupe "parts car" that runs pretty good. Took it around the block last night just for kicks. heh heh. Brian, now I know what you mean about that thing shifting so hard! It's got some pep too. -grant

I updated the pics so they are larger now. Grant is right, my '64 cutlass holiday coupe, black plate car, is from Riverside,CA. The '64 442 is a Fremont car sold in Long Beach, CA. The '64 convertible is from St. George, Utah

That 442 is interesting that it has A/C, but manual brakes. It looks like it has power steering, does it? Great buys all the way around.

I think the 442 was on ebay a few times. You are right...the guy was asking $7k and everyone kept calling for the air cleaner and other parts because he did not have a title for the car. he told me one guy offered $1800 for the air cleaner and lower controls. Another guy wanted those two items and the data tag. Everyone is trying to fake an original. Too bad they are too dumb to know the trunk lid needs the correct holes and the upper control arm mount has to have the correct number of holes and the frame number also has to be correct. Thankfully the seller did not part it out, he said it did not feel right to give someone the data tag. The other hold up during the ebay auctions was the pink slip. Which he finally got for the car...I have it in hand. The car listed last July on ebay and I have been trying to acquire it ever since. Sometimes it pays to be patient. ;D ;D

You guys have to be bachelors!!!! Good find guys, keep up the good work, better you than the scrap man. Nope, I am married. The scrap man would have loved to get his hands on the 442...maybe Andy would have been in the right place at the right time again. ;D He could have made a quick $1000 by selling the air cleaner and another $200-$400 for the controls and another several hundred for the trunk lid.

Do you know who the dealer in Long Beach was that sold it? Yes, I placed a call to them today but the person handling DMV records was out of the office.
