Hey, what brake booster are you running? Mine is converted to discs as well, but I have a stock GM booster from the late 60's and the thing is huge and always in the way. I'd love a booster your size. It's an 8" dual diaphram I got from a company in Dayton Ohio (forget the name at the moment). Gives me much more room to get valve covers off, and to change the #7 spark plug.

hey mongoose..... i have a few questions: 1) is that the mondello power steering bracket setup?? and where did you get that upper alternator bracket setup?? no issues with the power steering pump hitting the gear box?? 2) what are the specs on the motor? carb size? intake? cam profile? HP? Yes that is a accessory bracket system I pick up from Mondello about 3 years ago. The "kit" included mounting brackets for both the power steering pump and alternator, the power steering pump, alternator and polished aluminum water pump, and crank and water pump pulleys. I like the fact that everything is mounted off the front of the motor, and it looks nice. Adjustability on the power steering pump for the belt is marginal, so installation and removal of the belt is a bit of a pain. But there are no clearance issues. I can take more pictures if you need to see something in particular. Motor specs... hmmm... it's 468ci, with strapped mains, full length windage tray. Nodular crank and factory rods, Arias pistons providing 10.1:1 compression with out of the box Edelbrock heads. Stainless roller rockers on 2.07/1.68 valves. Torker intake with a cone "stuffer". Engle cam (Mondello MPV-1-2), which provides .574" lift on the intake, and around .560" on the exhaust. 7-quart Milodon oil pan (used to use an 8-quart, but got tired of beating the s#!t out of it on the pavement driving through intersections when I lived in Texas). Did I leave any "advertised features" out?

Nope, I think u got it most of it, nicely done...except, what size carb are u running??
It seems Mondello only offers the passenger side alternator mounting bracket now which is big $$$. The March system will run about $1000 complete, where mondello's setup will be about $1400. Wish I knew someone who's run the march system for quality comparison to mondello's.
And what size steering wheel are u going with?? I have a 15" on mine now, but think I will be swapping it out for something smaller for better steering control. The big wheel is nice for cruising, but not for quick counter-steering ability when the ass end is going out sideways!!!

The big wheel is nice for cruising, but not for quick counter-steering ability when the ass end is going out sideways!!! When I originally purchased the car in 1985, the factory wheel was toast. So I replaced it with a foam padded Grant steering wheel, which served its purpose at the time, and for many, many years after. But with this rebuild, I wanted to go back to an original steering wheel. Yes, it feels skinny and big around compared to any other vehicle I've had since the 80's, but I love the period correct look. I'm obviously not concerned about "correctness"... but for the look I'm going for, I love it. Here's a picture I took when I was installing the new wheel. I'll take another with it all completed.

what size carb are u running?? I'm using a Proform 750. Lack of a choke is a bit of a pain... starts right up... but you've got to stay with it for a few minutes until the engine builds up some heat before you can take your foot off the pedal. Other than that it's a nice carb, but I'd look closer at the Barry Grant's... and I doubt I'd go chokeless again. Live and learn. Here's a "glancing shot" of the carb I took sometime back on a topic we had on distributors...

Looks indescribably gorgeous. Truly worthy of the moniker my daughter gave it; "Cutlass Porn"

WOW! Beautiful! Love the low stance. How is header clearance? Header clearance seems fine... at least so far. Not too many dips in the roads around here. Haven't tried a speed bump yet. I think suspension travel is helped out a bit by the loss of weight from the change to aluminum heads, water pump, radiator, brackets, pulleys, etc.

Let me correct my last post a bit. Now that I'm driving the car around a bit, I've found that I do have to watch dips in the road unless I enjoy the sound of scraping. I had replaced my old front set-up (stock spindles, cut springs) with about a 2" drop, to stock springs and 2" drop spindles. Car sits about the same height, but the spring rate on the new springs must be lower than the old ones, which is letting the front end dip more.

Here's a poster I had made while I was at the Duck Tail Run in Gas City, IN. They took a photo of my car, and then superimposed it onto a background of my choice. The image pictured here is actually not the background I selected (they made a mistake), but gave it to me anyway along with another one with the background I wanted. This is just a photo I took with my phone (hard to keep out light reflections). I've asked for a digital copy, and I'm waiting to here back.
