Finally some progress after about 2 weeks of downtime... Fenders and hood got painted... Set a couple pieces of trim on the fender just to see how it looked... The rest of the car is over in the paint bay receiving final sanding on the primer... We'll see if the painters get ambitious this weekend and paint the rest of the car.

Great progress Mongoose, cant wait to see this one done and love the color! Ps, what size are your wheels? Im thinking about changing from the 14's ive got to something larger to clear disc brakes.

These are old classic 15" Weld Wheels. I like them, but I also like a more modern look to... like 18" 5-spokes for the rear, and 17" in the front. I like the look of a 275/60-15 rear tire (28" tall), so I don't think an 18" wheel will look too big. But I'm still torn... old school hot rod... or a more modern pro-touring look.
But for now the 15" Weld's work just fine.

Well done. Great looking color. Are you sticking with the white top? I have never seen a tan top (although I think it was an option) but conceptually it would look nice with that color.

Are you sticking with the white top? Yeah, I'm going to stay with a white top. The car's original color code is D-1... Lucerne Mist and a white top. I'm taking the approach to keep the body and interior original (note the re-cast steering wheel), but the drivetrain and wheels are all "upgraded" (hotrodded). I originally replaced the top in 1985, but it has yellowed and picked up some mold stains the last couple years, so I'm going to replace it again.
