A few people know that I use my '65 442 to pull my 31 foot travel trailer....hence the name Maxx Tugg. I am coming to the end of having the desire to do this.....so....I am thinking of pulling the TH400 and installing an overdrive....with the 3:25:1 gears will I be in the right ratio to utilize an overdrive? What trans does everyone think would be the best....I just want to cruise.
This TH400 has been specially built to pull heavy loads. Has only 6,000 miles on it.

I've been told that the trans out of the 87 & 88 442's and grand nationals are a direct bolt-in. Even the driveshaft works. I think it's the 200R.

Thanks Bro......I had to have a drive shaft made when I installed the TH400...it is 3/4inch shorter than the stock length......will this be a problem?

The TH200-R4 is the same length as a TH350. And a 350 is shorter and a 400. I guess it depends on your 400s tailhousing, but Id say your new driveshaft will be too short.
