It would be nice to see some trunk pans done in the proper gauge sheet metal instead of that thin stuff they sell everywhere....
You would think if they go through the trouble to make the tooling for panels it couldnt cost that much more to do it right...Im sure we would all pay a little more for panels done the right way.

I put one of those front repair panels in my other car...Not fun but got it done....took a while because you dont want to make any mistakes in that spot ...also its too bad there are no replacements to do the sides in front...

Is the bow on both sides? Would the weight of the body cause this to level out? Just wondering if it is supposed to be this way to allow for the weight of the body...

My original fan clutch is about 2.5 inches as well...I took back the 2705 Hayden unit I purchased and I believe it was about 3.25 or 3.5 inches...cant recall now...

Im working on my other 65, a cutlass....
Has anyone swapped in a later model 455...say 75 olds..and found out that they cant use a fan clutch because its too close to the rad?
I tried moving the rad as far forward as I could...still about 1/2 inch too close...I dont really feel like putting in s shorter water pump and the pulleys would be screwed up then would they not?
The car has a/c as well to compound things...Are there any shorter shafted fan clutches out there say around 2 1/2 inch in total depth? cant seem to find anything online.

Thats the upper bracket on ebay...the lower is a couple of "u"shaped metal brackets with rubber inserts that wrap around the tank...if they are missing you could make some up and use chevy rubber inserts...I dont think they are reproduced for olds but chevy should work...
someone correct me if I am wrong please

I was surfing ROP yesterday and came across a post regarding paint...The guy had a few 400 blocks and he found 1980 Mazda code 9Y to be an almost perfect match for the color on his blocks...another one showed a Fiat color of "Rame metallic" but Ditzler number DAR2657H whatever that is...I am going to get a can of the mazda paint made up to see what it looks like...I was cleaning my valve covers and undercovered a small patch of the original paint to compare to..Its very close the that Ford color I have mentioned in the past and BRO mentions on his site..I will let everyone know how it goes...
