What are these made of, and what is the finish?
Thanks

1965 Dog dish caps are one year only, Stainless, with polished finish around the outer band, and around the emblem in the center. The background paint between the emblem and the ring should be gloss black, the emblem is polished. The surface face between them is brushed such that the lines go around the cap, not across it. If they are dented they can be saved. The stainless is repairable. I can send picture if needed. Hope this helps.

Good luck. Finding a nice set is like hunting chicken's teeth. Mine are refurbished.

NOS can be found. I have NOS on my red car and white car. A friend has an NOS set on his shelf he may part with. I can ask if you like.

You can ask. How hard is it to find the rims? And do these rims fit over GM front disc brakes?

Brand new steel rims available from Wheel Vintiques, model 62, available from Jegs for best price with free shipping. They specify one particular wheel as a "replacement" for 65 GTO, 15" x 7", that fits our cars perfectly. I can't remember if it is 4", or 4.25" offset. They are disk brake wheels. 14" will not clear disk brakes. Excellent product, great value, but not OEM markings if you are going for a correct car. Very satisfied with mine.

i was quite surprised at how scarce used 15x7 5 on 4.75 steel rims are, spent a lot of time looking, calling various yards, when i did find any they weren't cheap.they were however rusty and or bent.if i had it to do over i would buy new.when i think of all the different make/model cars that had them through the 70s and 80s i wonder where they all went.jc

If you can find original rims, the cost to true, sandblast and refinish is prohibitive unless you are building a "points" show car. Even 15" x 7" and 15" by 8" Corvette rally wheels can be bought really cheap in the aftermarket. I remember back in the 60's, when you bought a set of Mags, you couldn't give the steelies away, they went to scrap unless they were big enough for slicks. For big slicks on cheap Gassers, we used to split stock rims on a lathe, cut the center out of one, then weld the two back halves together, and drill a hole for the stem, to make 9" or 10" inch rims. I think I'm really old!
