Hello everyone, I have a set of dog dish hub caps on my car, How do you remove them and install them without causing damage to them. There was a earlier post , and they did show an example, but the photo has been removed, thanks Jerry.

I use a pry bar that has a tapered shaft on one end,and a "J" or comma shaped hook on the other. You can buy them through Harbor Freight. I use the hooked end and put a piece of cardboard between it, and the steel rim. Pull back gently on the handle and the cap pops off, no damage to cap or wheel. You can also use a lug wrench handle that has a slight hook on the blade end. They used to come stock on the older cars. Don't know where you can find them now.
To install them, you can either push on the center of the cap on the crowned edge near the Rocket emblem, or tap them on with piece of hard plastic on the outer rim. I have a Delrin block I use for that. Never use a Mallet or hammer, recipe for disaster! Be patient, be gentle, both methods work for me. If you want a picture of the pry bar, PM me with an email.
