Anyone install a Vintage Air system in their '65? If so I'd be interested in your list of part numbers, and photos of the install. I'm in the planning stage now...
I'll post this in the For Sale section too, but does anyone have a pair of the original AC condenser mounting brackets? I need to get up in the attic and rummage through my pile to see if I still have mine, but wanted to put feelers out now while I'm at it.

I have a Vintage Air system in my car but I had it installed at a shop so I don't have pictures. I have a non A/C car with power steering. I didn't want the compressor to be located above the power steering pump so I had then locate below the alternator on the right side. The rest of the install was fairly standard. The interior vents had to be put into the dash. I have two rectangular ones towards the center under the dash and a chrome ball louver on each side. I do have a list of part numbers from the installer if that would help you.

Why don't you post a few pics of your dash vents and list the part numbers on here for other members who are or will be interested.

When I searched last year, none of the major resto A/C companies made any specific parts kit for our cars. I was told the under dash kit for a Skylark was the closest, but no 442 brackets, ducts, vents or switch panels. please also give us the cost of the install if possible.

Sorry for my delayed response... I thought I had the settings for this site set up to send me an email when there was a response to a thread I was a part of.
Good, helpful pictures! Do you have one of the condenser mounting in the core support? Vintage Air now also makes some "sensors" that mount to "cable stubs" on the factory AC controls, so you can still use the factory set up and run the VA unit. I know you're car wasn't originally an AC car, so you didn't have those to use, but thought I'd mention that here.
As I progress with the build/install, I'll document as much as I remember with pics, part numbers, tips, etc. I'll go through your part number list in more detail tonight, and compare to what I've been looking at. Then I'll call VA, and get a plan together with them.

The first two pictures are the bottom brackets. Just 2 angle brackets from the bottom of the condenser to the lower support. The next is the top. There are 2 brackets from the top of the condenser to the upper support. This shows the tubing routing from the condenser through the side support The last is top down showing the tubing routing under the horns back to the compressor. There wasn't much room for the photos so if they don't make sense let me.

Opps, don't have this photo thing down too good yet so you get a couple duplicates.

Hello Daved65 - I sent you a private message about your setup on adding the ac to your 65. Do you happen to have some pictures of the ac compressor bracket? I am working on mounting the compressor just below the alternator just as you have done. It looks like you are still using the factory alternator bracket. Is that true?

Sorry for the delay in responding. The bracket was fabricated by my installer. I'll take some pictures of it in the next few days and get them to you. The installer did have to massage the inner fender well a little bit to get clearance for the compressor. I changed from the two groove pulleys to three grove. The challenge I had at the time was locating three groove pulleys. Yes, it is the factory alternator bracket.

Hi Brian, A little challenging to get in to take photos of the brackets. Let me know if what I can clarify. Dave imgur.com/a/8P5Njle
