What were the correct colors of the various parts? I've seen both black and gray.

I think it depends where and when it was made. I've seen at least two different styles of jacks for a 65 and a couple different colors/finishes for the parts. On my convertible that was a Fremont car, it had the T style shaft and gray painted ratchet and base. On two Lansing built Cutlass' had the triangle shaft with black painted ratchet and base.

Thanks Mike, I have a Lansing car but the jack is the t-type, and the old paint looks black with gray T-bar.
