We are all familiar with Corvette but did you know Oldsmobile built a two seated fiberglass car on a Corvette frame for the 1954 autorama show? It is believed to be in someones collection today. google it. It is a really good article. If they had produced it it would have had a souped up 324 olds V8 with about 250 horse. The vette at that time only had a 6 cyl with 3 carbs.

it sold for over 3 million 3 years ago to a museum.production of this car would certainly have been the demise of the corvette.i thought the f88 was an awesome looking car.a v8 with power windows against a 6 cyl with side curtains isn't much of a contest.i've read there was extreme pressure from chevrolet to halt it's production.

Every few months someone "discovers" the F88, or the W43 motors, or some similar item.

I guess more people knew about this than I thought. This car was gold in color. There was a red one Harley Earl drove and then there was a blue one with quad headlights that really looked great.

Very impressive. I was not aware Pontiac also had a similar car or that the "Parade of Progress" had more than one bus. I think one of them sold for $4M at Barrette Jackson several years ago. I think that Olds version would have out sold the vette if it had been produced.
