Muscle cars are NOT supposed to have 3 belt pulleys, you darn whimps. If you not willing to trade the heat for the horses, you should be drivin" a damn ford or Grandmas station wagon.

You could get H.D. cooling without P.S. and it had 3 groove pulleys. (Makes the water pump spin faster) Check the Assy manual. Basically it was an AC setup without the AC, and with SMT you still got the better cam. It included the the AC radiator too.
Back then they were called Supercars. I don't think the name muscle car came to be until the late 70's. It was created by the car magazines. I remember Roger Huntington in the 60's calling them supercars not muscle cars.

So how was the belt hookup with this odd ball setup? One belt for the alt. and two for the water pump, how would the belt tension get set for the water pump? Or was three belts for the alt. also?

It was 1 belt. You used the the groove in the back (correction - front). The alt pulley had 2 grooves. The belt adjustment was with the alternator. See drawing. With this option I think you would also get the AC shroud and the AC water pump. Cool option to get.

I remember Roger Huntington in the 60's calling them supercars not muscle cars. Did you Google the word Muscle Car and then quote the WIKI description? I lived and raced the 60's & 70's and no one ever used the term "supercar" to describe our cars. Some point to the 1964 Pontiac GTO as the first muscle car. It was born when Pontiac put a 389 cubic inch engine (used in the full size Pontiac Bonneville) into a mid-sized Tempest LeMans and dubbed it "GTO". Note that, in this instance, the GTO was actually a type of Tempest LeMans. It would later become its own nameplate. The combination was proclaimed by many auto magazines as the hottest muscle on American roads, thus connecting it to the term "muscle car". The 389 (four barrel carburetor) came standard with the vehicle and delivered 325 horse power. Optionally you could upgrade to add 3 two barrel carburetors, bringing the horsepower up to almost 350. That type of power is more in keeping with what people consider a "muscle car" and for that reason, labeling this as the first American muscle car would make sense.

Check out this cover of Car and Driver Bro from March 66. I don't have the time to look up all the magazine articles written by Roger Huntington calling them Super Cars but he used that term frequently. The first "muscle car" was really the 49 Olds Rocket 88. Big V8 engine at the time with loads of torque for its day in a comparatively light body. Pontiac wasn't first, Olds was.

I believe that he was the one that wrote an article about the "maximum speed possible in the 1/4 mile was 160 Miles per hr." "1 G accel would be max in the quarter mile (something in the 9's, 140's)" I too, owned these cars in the 60`s, NEVER heard "supercars" heard MUSCLE. My first muscle car was a 66 gto in 67, if someone would have called it a supercar ida puked in there rainbow colored shoes
