There is a small button on top, flat side of the switch. You need to push and hold the button down and pull out on the knob.

And there basically all the same
I think I`ll try again.
Step 1) Open the car door (left or, drivers side) Step 2) Position the seat (left or, drivers side if equipped with bucket seats)to it`s most rearward position (towards the trunk)
ADDENDUM TO STEP 2) If your like some I know, seat removal may be necessary to gain access to back side of IP Step 3) and on, and on, and on

Thanks for the positive input. It turned out my switch was seized but i had another. So fuck the old ass guys who have nothing better to do than comment on read my site or read the manual bull shit. I do that every time before posting. I though5 this forum was to be helpful but sometimes i also think a few guys just love to piss people off on a simple question. I like dave and bros input on other issues but shouldnt the two of you guys be ordering coffins or updating your life insurance policy. All questions on this forum lately come down to older guys putting people down. Maybe im one of those suicidal guys that dosent take negative input well. I need my meds. Jk

Nobody was putting anyone down, but if the info has been collected and posted to make it easier for you and everyone else, why not take the time to look it up and use it before you ask a question who's answer has step by step numbered instructions. As far as ordering coffins, REALLY! Go have Mommy change your diaper, cause you're acting like a fuckin' baby.

Ohhh BOY !!
Perhaps us old guys should crawl in our coffins, and let some of the replies to some of the questions asked lately stand as written. I`ll take correct advise from a sarcastic ol` prick, before a self proclaimed guru with incorrect advise any day of the week.
I don`t think the step by step instructions were aimed at you, personally, but more tongue in cheek humor. Mine was aimed at a friend (well kinda) but not you. You should have been more descriptive of your circumstances. BUT, YOU, solved your dilemma by snipping the stem.
Big Mikes post did nothing to solve YOUR unique situation, it was a basic how to on switch removal. After big mikes post you should have then been more detailed on your situation.
If your first post would have said, I can`t remove the pull knob even by pushing the button, that would have helped.
I`ve seen some awful stubborn switches, really tests your patience, but never had to cut one.
Good luck, I`ll steer clear of your threads
