It raises the hump some on the side . My car is an auto and I will be changing it over to a 4 speed at some point.

The below show the cutout floor for the TKO, installed in the 442 convertible. Still have a few months before the convertible to be on the street.

You will want the wide ratio for a street car, as it will allow a 3.42 or 3.23. And provide good starting acceleration, with reasonable highway RPM. I have a narrow ratio 2.20 with my 3.90 rear. Once rolling the gears, in the narrow ratio are real close, and I am at 3,200 RPM by 65 MPH. The rear in your auto car should work fine. Look on the right side axle tube for a two aplha code, SA, SC. Recognize the letters may be upside down, depends on who had the metal stamps.
Be careful as you look at Muncie trans. It is very difficult to see the worn out selector gears, sliders, and synchros. You can use the auto drive shaft (has a rubber collar in the shaft near the rear axle.)

The hump mounts the shifter boot and make room for the shifter (Shifter bolts to your Trans as an auto bolts to the floor board) . You just cut a hole then screw or rivet that hump in. I went from a auto to a 4 speed in my 64 GTO. You can also use GTO parts. You don't need to remove your pedal bracket with the brake pedal. You can leave it in place and slide out the pedal from the shaft and install the clutch pedal onto the old bar or shaft Then install new bushings and a clip. Its quit easy. You will need to make a hole for the push rod and you will need a new firewall plate and gasket. One thing that you won't have is a neural safety switch. I made mine and wired it it. That will take some fab work. You will also need to weld the bracket that holds the z bar.I could be wrong on that part but I needed to do that for the GTO.Hope this helps

Autogear, or you can get a nice 5 speed from Legend Gear, looks just like a now defunct Keisler Engineering five speed. I think they were making the Keisler parts so it's really not that surprising.
