On the California 442's the left side valve cover pcv vent went to the side of the air cleaner. What did the right side valve cover have and look like since there was no pipe to the right side snorkel?

What did the right side valve cover have and look like since there was no pipe to the right side snorkel? Wasn't it the same set up as 65 442? Depending on if a power brake car or not? Drivers side had PCV with vacuum line running either to the back of the carb or back of the manifold...power brakes drove the location on CA cars.

Driver's side definitely went to the air cleaner, not to the carb or manifold, see attached photo. The '68 Toroanado had the same set up. It is not the same as '65's where the left side did go to the back of the carb. So my question stills remains, what happens on the right side?

Like Rag pointed out, the driver side valve cover grommet and hose goes to the side of the aircleaner on the '64 442 (see photo above). Lansing built '64 442's only had a hole in the passenger side valve cover, this was for the PCV to snorkle connection. The passenger side on Fremont '64 442's had the PCV valve which went to the back of the carb. At least that is how my '64 442 was set up. Also, the oil fill tube cap does not have a breather. Fresh air is pulled into the driver side valve cover and circulated through the engine, then by vacuum brought back into the carb to be burned again. Depending on driving condition, the vacuum changes and blowby gases may build up in the engine. If they buildup enough they may come back through the driver side valve cover and into the aircleaner to be sucked back into the engine. Hence, the closed PCV set-up for reduced emissions.

BTW, Rag you are very lucky to have the Fremont '64 442 aircleaner. Super rare as the production of 442's during that year was already low and likely only a small number were produced at the Fremont plant. Great find. I have a Fremont '64 442 and was also fortunate to have the dual snorkle still with the car. Did you ever sell the cloned dual snorkles you made?

PCV is on the pass vs drivers side and connects into the back of the carb

Still have one Lansing repro top with the base and the California original. Can't believe no one out there would pay the $850 for a super rare item! Thanks for answering my question about the right side set up. I have a guy interested in the California air cleaner if I can provide both valve covers and the proper connecting tubes etc.
