I've never tried it, but the old adage is you can swap entire front clips, but not the pieces and parts. It's my understanding that your 64 fenders will not line up with a 65 core support. If they did 65 owners would be able to use 64 fenders as replacements, but again, I've never done it.

I think swapping core supports is going to give you some issues.

I used the lower section (saddle?) of a 65 support on a 64 core, my 64 had a 65 front end on it when I got it. When swapping back to a 64 front end I wanted to use the 65 radiator on the 64 front end so I cut the lower section off at the spot welds and welded the 65 section on the 64 core.I also had to modify the center latch/support to attach to the lower section.I don't recall any other issues with this mod.

Fred that maybe the way to go I can get a 65 and fit and weld in the lower saddle. But if i move forward the 64 may be usable. Right now my set up is supposed to cool in excess of 500 HP.

I can half ass weld, never used a plasma cutter but they are sweet. I would like to learn how to TIG.
