I actually did something to day that I never thought I would ever in my lifetime find myself admiting to. ( I bought a friggin' vert ) and its not a 65 God help me, it was a moment of weakness, but the parts that came with it made it impossible to pass up. It's a 66 4 speed with tri-carbs, a beautiful console with no pits, original 4 speed and Hurst shifter, the original dinky little "off to the left" tach, 2 extra rust free front fenders, three extra nice doors, a whole box of little Olds rocket emblems, which I don't know what they are for...and an excellent set of manifolds with out the deep craters. It does need totally restored it aint pretty, but the quarters, trunk, frame (sorry Jeffy, the answer is NO), two good bumpers in addition to the cores that are on it, an extra console top plate, four nice head light bezels, nice extra set of tail lights and other sheet metal is very nice. It does have one small hole under the gas pedal, but I guess I can live with that. The best part is I got everything for the usual cost of the Tri-Carb set-up. Go ahead and stake me up with "Rocky Topper" hell , why not, it is Easter. One more man and we can be rented out for the weekend.

Don't have any yet, but it looks like yours did, except it's not burried to it's knees in sand and beside that, this is a 65 site NOT 66, so I guess you'll never get to see it. OH well!

it's ok bro... at least you didn't wake up with one hand tied to some indian playing that knife game in the desert i love all oldsmobiles, and that is why i have this site for my 65, rop for performance and racing stuff, and the 73-77 forum for my wagon! L69 4SP vert huh... that sounds rare, and i believe that little factory dash tach is a damn rare piece as well. i thought only the first handfull of 66 W30's had them, but i could be wrong about that. sounds like you picked yourself up a hell of a car there ...even if it isn't a 65 holiday coupe

The usual cost of a tri-carb set-up? Would that be between $5-$6k? Sorry but some of us need to be schooled by the veterans.

Sorry but some of us need to be schooled by the veterans. average between $2000-$3000 depending on condition of the carbs and intake. i have seen cheaper but they are really rough. i have seen beautifully restored ones with rebuilt carbs and painted intake go for $3500. Yeah, BRO, come on man! We need some photos!

I have 1 LS-1 and 1 LT-1 sitting on the shelf, but they would NEVER wind up in an Olds. The LS is going in a 56 Bird I'm doing for the wife. I figure it slow enough that she can't hurt her self with that. Sorta like running training wheels compared to a BBO.

And she doesnt mind making it roast the tires on her Z28.
