Thanks, I like them ALOT. I am going to fab up a wire loom to bolt to the back of the head also to keep them neat. I cant wait on the new dist to get here. I think I may move the wiring to run between the vlv cover and plug wires to keep it off in the intake

Play meaning side to side... as if the o-rings are missing? Or are you talking about how the cap mounts to the distributor housing? The Proform HEI I have in now seems to fit "cleanly"... not snug, but I don't notice any side to side wobble when the hold-down clamp is loose. Wouldn't think more than a hair of side to side would be acceptable. Seems like it'd potentially shift even with the clamp really tight. Have you mic'd the Pertronix to the previous distributor to see where the variances are? BTW... your 12 hours looks good.

I used to run a set of those wires, but in time, the stainless became an excellent conductor and created some break-up. I hope you don't have the same problem.

Play as in the entire dist will wiggle around without the hold down tight, now when I snug it up its fine but I am not used to dropping one in and being able to move it side to side, its not a huge amount, but I bet I can move it 1/16th, the O-ring is in place

Not sure if I would consider that movement a reason not to use the distributor. I'm sure others will chime in. I've had my distributor in and out a half dozen times in the last week, and don't recall there being play once the housing was seated fully into the block. I would measure the housing and o-ring diameter, and compare it to the previous unit, and see what the differences are. It's possible you got a "mis-machined" housing... but to know if it's machining or design... you'd probably have to call whoever makes the Pertronix unit. And I'm thinking good luck on that...

I thought you guys might get a kick out of this. I been slowly detailing, changing, timing, etc the car. Remember this was my dads car. He also has a 72 Nova SS, Big block car, and its pretty hot, factory disc brake, black interior, bright red with a black top. Its been worked over pretty well. Dont get the wrong impression when I say he is 72, he still swings a hammer, works like mad, and is in incredible shape. He calls me yesterday and says " Hey son, get that Oldsmobile out Saturday, there is a show at the local christian academy for kids that cant afford school meals etc, Im gonna take the Nova down there (In which he really hasnt cranked it up in 11 months) and you need to take the 442, maybe before we can meet up and I will wear your ass out up the back side (long wide straight near our house) The thing that sucks is that he probably will wear my ass out after all this work, lol, but the show is for a good cause!

Well from the picture below the weather killed it, It was for a good cause and we were so excited about getting both cars out we went anyway. Just a few cars showed up, we didnt get to line them up as dad had hoped but we did get ride in and drive each others cars. Much to my suprise the Olds is quite a bit stronger than the Nova and we agreed upon that. It shocked me. But the nova is a really nice driving car and it sounds like its about to tear the earth up. Those Flowmasters can be decieving.

It has been one HELL of a last few weeks, two busted Robbmc starters, busted U-joint, and I ripped a upper rear control arm almost in half. Its all back together now finally and the snow sets in

Removing the center divider in the intake and a little more port work, also cutting the rear fenderwells out and replacing them to fit a wider tire
