That last one is an Alberta car...picked up an Olds scavenger and resold to someone in Edmonton I believe...Hope it gets restored...it was a bare bones 4 speed car...original engine gone..had been used for racing for many years till the owner parked it and passed away after a long illness..rough but salvageable....

AARRGGHHH! Right through the heart! And well deserved! At least it has spent its time with me under cover, and I finally washed it! I have already started gathering interior pieces and weatherstrip,I think I am going to leave the alligator paint job for a while.New inside, old out. There is no rust on this,it came from Arizona. And I still have the 'vert to drive. Last weekend I spent building shelves and sorting parts in the barn-Olds,Chevy,which year, etc. This weekend I spent moving it all out and taking down the stalls so the new horse has a place to live! Oh,well, she doesn't care if I keep bringing home old cars and trucks, and even the occasional machine gun.I can put up with 2 horses. (when I got divorced years ago, there were 29 of them I had paid for! ) ---bil PS-anyone scrapping or even checking out these 442s,either keep the option tag or get pictures-it would be interesting to see what the combos were back then.

You guys know if the red post car is still sitting on the farm? I don't where I would put it but it deserves better than that.

Sorry for the discussion in this section Jasen.....you can remove it if you want. Anyway, my wife has only seen the car one time. It sits in Grants warehouse in Los Angeles. She didn't really say much about the 442. I think she got about 10 feet away and said "looks like it needs a lot of work". She would not even sit in the '64 Hardtop until I replaced the interior. Probably a good thing because there were mice in the vents ;D ;D The 442 does need a lot of work. I am sure if Grant and I spent 3 or 4 days on it we could have it running. Typical, non-midwest (i.e. no quarters, rockers, fenders, frame, etc) rust issues are the biggest problem. The floors are good, trunk is shot d/t window channel leak, some rot in the left front window channel. Biggest issue is rot in the right sail panel sheet metal.....not going to be fun fixing that problem. Grant and I are a little stumped how this happened. The car sat in outside storage in Long Beach for 30+ yrs. We think they put a tarp over the back window which trapped the moisture. Again, Jasen, sorry about the discussion. I know you wanted this thread to be limited to pictures only. Delete it if you want. No hard feelings.

East coast the floors and lower body rots out. West coast the window channels rot and the roofs surface rust. I was looking at this car in San Diego. Back window rotted so bad the trunk filler panel separated from the under structure.

my car has some odd roof rust as well, drivers side above door/windshield, and sailpanel also drivers. could have sat on a slight angle and when it sweated on the roof metal it puddled against roof supports

Found this one today, not far from me. Story is its been sitting on this ladies property for 5 years. I got the owners son on the phone and he told me they are going to fix it up, put a 396 in it. Same ole story, had it for 15 years and done nothing to it. Car is a real 442, 4 speed, red with black interior. Holes for side chrome are bondo'ed up. Floors not bad, rust here and there. Trunk rusty, cowl seam has a lot of rust. Oh well..........
