looks like some black underneath. can you guarantee that it has never been repainted, which means that it has never been out of your site for the last 46 years. huuuuummmmm? Can only vouch for 40 or so years as a few of them in the early 70's were lost and I don't know what really happened Anyway, if the black pulley was on before paint then it stands to reason the bronze paint would be on top.

nice looking build, nice pistons.
In the 3rd pic down from the pic w/ the caliper showing the installed height. The springs are on the valves. The distance from the retainer to the stem tip look to be a little short compared to the others.( stem height) Make sure the rockers don't rub retainer.
not bashing, just trying to help .
