Yep. 17x7 in the front and 17x8 in the back. Billet Specialties Mags. Ordered all the disc stuff minus spindles(already have them) for the front, so that's the next project before the Car Craft Summer Nationals in a few weeks.

What off set did you end up using with the 17x7 ? Do you rub when your maxed out on a turn ?

4.5" backspace in the front with a 225/50r17. They rub a little when cranked not sure if it's the inner or outer fender. Probably be better if I wasn't running 50 year old SBO springs with a BBO. Lol

ECI brakes? Their conversion moves your wheels inbound on each side 1" over 68-72 factory disc and 1/2" over stock drums. Its the only way i could drop the front end 2" and not rub the fenders.

No, stock 71 cutlass items. Original spindles off my old 71 Vista, everything else is new.

Front discs done. Ended up going back to power brakes. I used the 64 booster with a 71 master. I had to shorten the rod between the booster and master. Brakes are better now than they've ever been.

That's good to know. Always a tire fitment challenge with our cars, and we see questions on brakes and fitment a lot. Need to keep this post somewhere that viewer will find it easily.

Engine coming out. Going to repaint it and fix the valve seals, change the cam and intake.

Figured while the engine is out I'd take off the fenders so I can adjust the doors and clean up the engine compartment. Which is when I say the only thing holding the core support on was gravity and the fender bolts. Looks like a previous owner left off the bottom half of the attaching hardware.

Be careful, I know a guy who was replacing the weatherstrip on the cowl when he decided "as long as I have ...... off, I might as well do ....... and as long as I have this off, I should ......." and shazam he was into a full body off. Just sayin...

Lol. I waited too long to get the car on the road. I'm keeping the "might as wells" in check.

Well it's a good thing I pulled the engine. Turns out the rods weren't resized when it was rebuilt so there was more bearing wear that there should have been with less than 2000 miles and one of the rods had the nuts loosen a touch. Also found out the cylinder wall thickness was less than we want it to be. So I have a new block, and it's now getting forged pistons, along with a new cam, bearings, arp hardware and Torker intake. The heads are just getting new valve seals and cleaned up.
So the engine is in the shop right now and hopefully be ready this spring.
Been working on cleaning up the engine bay as well and getting it ready for some paint.

Rocket Racing and Performance in Waterford. Btw they didn't do the prior work rebuild.
