Pushed it out of the garage. First time it's been out since it went in in 2006. Was test fitting a rear tire size, so took a couple wheels off my gbody wagon. The 235/60R15's fit well on the 15x7 86 442 wheels. I was having rubbing problems with the 255/70R15's i put on it before. It was rubbing on the outer wheelhouse. I did figure out why the car had air shocks. It's a bit of an ass dragger.

those air shocks do have their advantages when it comes to tires / stance. just dont try an autocross with em

Probably not much danger of me auto crossing.

Got the engine compartment wiring finished and converted to HEI and internal reg alternator. Got the hood back on for the first time since I put in the engine a few years ago. Then while trying to line that up I noticed the drivers fender needs to move back a about 3/16" . Aligning body panels sure is a PITA. Then fluids and my carb on and it's ready to fire.

Hooked up my jump pack to check the wiring. No smoke, no fire. That's a win for me

It's ALIVE! Finally fired it up for the first time. Love the way it sounds with the 3" exhaust and Hooker Maximum Flo's.

Recently picked up a 64 post coupe (beat up some/trunk shot/some rust elsewhere)but manageable. Not sure if I am going to tackle the project or not, but looking to put some nice exterior trim together in case I do. Any leads appreciated. Would be willing to barter with some 65 stuff for parts of equal condition.

Well now that the ice has finally melted in the garage (literally, I had 2" thick ice in there on the floor), I am back to working on it. Thought my fuel pump had gone out, but it turns out I had apparently been in too much of a hurry when I ran new hardline from the gas tank to the engine compartment and forgot to put clamps on the rubber line between the pickup and hardline. I guess it had enough of a grip at first but then started sucking air. Runs good now, maybe a bit rich at idle.
Next thing to get is door handles and windows cranks for the inside along with door weatherstripping. Hoping to get it all at the Jefferson swapmeet next weekend. Then to sand blast the wheels I plan on using which are 14x6 unless I find some cheap 15x7 steelies soon. Once I finalize which wheels then I'll pick up some tires. Its going to be a dog dish car for now.

That's great news, Jamie. Nice to have a clamp issue rather than a pump issue. Re: wheels, of all the hub caps styles, the dog dish caps are one of my favorite looks for the 64.

Found out the front passenger side freeze plug is leaking. Grrr. Engine has zero street miles since rebuild which was in about 2000, just running in car in garage and driveway. Noticed it dripping today. Not sure if I'll be able to replace it in the car or if I'll have to pull it.
Very unhappy.

Well between work and other home projects, haven't done much on the 64. I did just install the roofrail weatherstripsI bought at the Jefferson swapmeet in spring and figured I should get them in before I go to Fall Jefferson on Saturday. After putting them on it then made the need to adjust the windows more apparent.

Put in a new tach today. Going for a retro look and this was the best old school looking one I found at Jefferson. Also put on my sunvisors I got from Legendary. I bought a set of black ones at Jefferson for the hardware.
