I planned on putting all new rubbbers, fuzzies on all the window compnents, but if they roll up and down nicely do you really need to pull them? However in my case the doors I am using came from a donor car thus I need to transfer everything over from my original doors that are rusted on the bottom, but the windows roll up and down nice. I am not removing the rear but will open the side covers and go through eveything and if I need to then I will pull them.

I love those bare bones poverty ordered cars. I was wondering. Do you think this car would have come with a deluxe steering wheel? Although it looks nice, the base steering wheel would really turn this into a real granny's hot rod!! If I had a genie in a bottle, I would ask to go back in time with enough money to order a few of these from the factory knowing what we know now about the classic car industry!!!

Deluxe wheel was an option. My coupe has it also. Mine was a dealer showroom car, not ordered by a customer. Olds might have built it with certain options, like the wheel and H chrome, to help it sell.

I have decided not to use the 67 400E motor and am going to build a 425 bad boy! So far I have acquired a 65 425 block, some new custom Arias .30 over pistons, 2CC valve reliefs, they come with .120 wall, Childs & Albert Tool steel pins and spirolocks. The 425 rods are very sweet, never been used made up from Joe Mondello a while back. They have been shot peened, magged, heat treated (to prevent bending), resized, side notched,ARP bolts and bushed for for floating pins and new ARP head and main bolts. The 67 400E will provide me with a 7qt Miloden oil pan, performer manifold, Dean Oliver prepped 800CFM Q-jet, Powermaster mini starter, HEI. So if you know anybody that would like a great running stock 67 400E long block with 65 A heads let me know.

A lot going on in since the last update. The needle scalier has been very busy removing all the scaly rust and 47 year "olds" undercoat off the frame. I figure the cleaner I can get the frame the better for the sandblaster and end result. The drivers side frame rail in front where it starts to bend inward (where the front door and fender meet) needed repair. I bought some 10 gauge hot rolled steel for the job. A friend of my came over a we fabbed 3 pieces to fix the spot and boxed it in making it much stronger than when it left the Olds plant in 12/10/63. Then I boxed the rear frame rails behind the rear end " dog legs". Today I am going to finish needle scaling inside the frame rails, hit it with some rust encapsulator and will box those sections in also. Then off to the sandblaster and powder coat. Then before starting re-assembly I'm going to use Eastwood's Internal Frame Coating W/spray nozzle and coat the inside off the frame with rust encapulsator. www.eastwood.com/internal-fra...ay-nozzle.html I'm so sick of rust on this car!!! Now for the good stuff-Ready to install I have a complete Hotchkis front and rear suspension, Hotchkis front and rear springs, A Moser 9 inch with the N-center section, upgraded yoke, 3:50 gear and QA-1 double adjustable shocks and a Jeep Grand Cherokee steering box I'm going to send off for a re-build.
